Arts-X-press is a summer arts immersion program for 7th and 8th grade students created by the Pacific Symphony in celebration of Cole Carsan St.Clair. 150 students are nominated by teachers throughout Orange County to come together for 5 days of creative exploration each summer. The program has two goals: 1) To expose students to all 5 performing and visual arts; and 2) To foster respect for and interest in each student’s individuality, talents, interests, and background.

Class of 2012 Welcome Concert

We hope that we will see many of you at this year's Welcome Concert on June 3.

Discount tickets for concert are available for purchase through the box office at (714) 755-5799 until 5 p.m. on Friday. Tickets may be available on concert day, but the special arts-X-press discount is NOT offered if you buy your tickets when you get to the concert hall. Be aware that this concert is very close to selling out, so you definitely want to call in advance.

If you have already requested tickets, they will be held at the Will Call Window. The concert starts at 3:00 pm and takes place at Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall at Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa. More information about parking and directions is at www.pacificsymphony.org under "Concerts & Tickets - Venues."

There will be a free public reception in the ground floor lobby afterward where you can have a chance to meet Carl St.Clair!

If we don't see you at the concert, we'll still see you soon at the Summer Orientations on June 7 and 9.

Forms and payments deadline

"Oh no!" you're thinking to yourself. "My arts-X-press forms were due YESTERDAY! What can I do?!!"

Do not stress. Definitely do not slog through Orange County traffic to hand deliver them to our office. Please just drop them in the very next mailbox you see and drop us an e-mail letting us know they will be a few days late.

Don't forget you can RSVP online for Summer Orientation.

Excursion Spotlight: Spamalot!

Sing along if you know it: spam spam spam spam.
Week 1 arts-X-pressers will attend the Tony-award winning Spamalot at Musical Theater West.  Kids, have you ever wondered why your parents shout "Nee!" and then laugh uproariously? You are about to learn. You’ve never laughed so hard as you will during Monty Python’s take on the legend of King Arthur and his knights of the round table.
