Hello hello hello everyone!
By golly!! Today was an exuberantly exciting day at AXP 2019 Woooo!!
These are your counselors, Brandon and Ella, here to tell you all about the amazing nature of our day. Let's go!
It would be vasty unjust to commence this article without mentioning the DELICIOUS-ness of our first breakfast at Concordia University. No joke; we enjoyed some scrumptious buttermilk pancakes, along with some yummy bacon and fresh fruit.
From breakfast, we embarked on our jam-packed day, starting with Creative Expression classes and then our arts workshops! Students got to further dive into their respective workshops and grow as budding artists.
Students were also given the opportunity today to explore the art forms not assigned to them as their workshop. Each camper had the opportunity to choreograph their own dance, play fun games in theater, and sing fun songs in vocal music!
Tonight's excursion was to the Muckenthaler Museum where students engaged in an interactive Harry Potter experience! Stations set up around the museum allowed students to play games to win points for the respective house (Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, and Slytherin). The campers were then able to watch a musical performance in the adjacent amphitheater that featured many famous pieces and tied them to the story of Harry Potter. Cards collected by the students had specific actions on the back, and students were encouraged to perform the action they felt best fit the tone of the music. It was a very fun night full of amazing music and creative dancing!
