Arts-X-press is a summer arts immersion program for 7th and 8th grade students created by the Pacific Symphony in celebration of Cole Carsan St.Clair. 150 students are nominated by teachers throughout Orange County to come together for 5 days of creative exploration each summer. The program has two goals: 1) To expose students to all 5 performing and visual arts; and 2) To foster respect for and interest in each student’s individuality, talents, interests, and background.

Aspects of Love - Nov. 15th

Hey arts-X-press family!

I'd love to share this with all of you in hopes that you and your families can experience what great art and passion can do. In Santa Ana, due to large budget cuts, many music and art programs are drastically being cut, but Saddleback High School is proud to have a strong representation in the arts.

With us performing many outstanding shows like Les Miserables last Spring, (Yes, that's me with the mustache as Thenardier at the bottom of the post!) we're continuing with our Fall Musical Theater Show, Aspects of Love. This show is about a boy and a girl who find their way through love while dealing with real hardships, while featuring musical theater songs.

What makes this show very unique is that it features our extended arts-X-press family! I had the honor of writing the entire script for the show and am performing as a lead, but it's not only me; Our other family members include Vanessa and Ilse, who attended arts-X-press 4 years ago!

Here are the performance details:

Date: THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 15th.
Location: Saddleback High School - in the Forum
(2802 South Flower Street, Santa Ana, CA, 92707; on the corner of Flower and Segerstrom)
Time: 7:00 pm (and the doors open at 6:30 pm)
Tickets: $7.00 at the door.

Coming out to support us and other alumni in our shows is not only fun, it helps make a great statement that keeping music and the arts in our schools is important!

Feel free to e-mail me any questions! I hope to see some of you there and hope you are all having a great school year! :)

Kelly's Blog

Dear arts-X-press Alumni,

I want to share with you the blog of Kelly Laude, one of our fellow arts-X-press alumni:

http://thelaudes.blogspot.com/

Many of you that know Kelly have been asking how she has been doing. If you visit her blog you can keep updated on how things are going and leave her lots of warm and fuzzy thoughts by posting comments to her blog.

Those of you who don't know her can still support her as part of the arts-X-press family and leave her notes of encouragemnt. There is also a link on the blog so you can email her directly if you want.

Kelly and her entire family thank everyone for keeping them in their thoughts.
