Arts-X-press is a summer arts immersion program for 7th and 8th grade students created by the Pacific Symphony in celebration of Cole Carsan St.Clair. 150 students are nominated by teachers throughout Orange County to come together for 5 days of creative exploration each summer. The program has two goals: 1) To expose students to all 5 performing and visual arts; and 2) To foster respect for and interest in each student’s individuality, talents, interests, and background.

Volunteers Needed - January 12th!

Hello Everyone!

I have a great volunteering opportunity about which to tell you!

Saturday, January 12, 2008 is our first Family Musical Mornings Concert of the season. We always need lots of volunteers for these concerts. We have several ways that people can help us at our Family Concerts. Some volunteers will help greet families as they come into the concert hall and make them feel welcome. Other volunteers will help lead hands-on activities and games for children to play. Still other volunteers will act as guides for groups of families who attend our concerts. We welcome volunteers ages 12 years and older. There is a lot to do and it is a great time as well!

The time commitment for volunteering is 8am – 1pm on Saturday, January 12th. As you can see, if you are earning volunteer hours for your school in one quick morning you will have racked up 5 hours of community service! And don’t worry, we DEFINITELY offer snacks for our volunteers!

Please reply to me at musicalcarnival@pacificsymphony.org if you are interested in volunteering for the Family Concert on January 12th. I will send you all the information you need. If you enjoy this opportunity, we have several more concerts throughout the school year at which you can join us! Hope to see you there!

Sincerely,
Candice Zimmerman
Coordinator, Musical Carnival
