Arts-X-press is a summer arts immersion program for 7th and 8th grade students created by the Pacific Symphony in celebration of Cole Carsan St.Clair. 150 students are nominated by teachers throughout Orange County to come together for 5 days of creative exploration each summer. The program has two goals: 1) To expose students to all 5 performing and visual arts; and 2) To foster respect for and interest in each student’s individuality, talents, interests, and background.

Thanks to Our April 19th Volunteers

Dear arts-X-press Alumni,

Thanks so much to all of the arts-X-pressers that volunteered at our Musical Carnival this past Saturday, April 19th. What a great time it was seeing alumni, current arts-X-press 2008 students, and even some staff!

Former arts-X-press Creative Expressions Instructor, Audra Ross, expresses herself by helping with face painting! Congrats to Audra who is due with her first baby (a girl!) this July!

Audra took a moment to smile for the blog with our very own Rachel, Director of Education, also due with her first baby (a boy!) in August!

Alumni Gunny assists getting everyone into the concert hall and making sure they get their programs.

Here's alumni Alvin being a little camera shy - and his sister Jazmin, who will be attending arts-X-press this summer, participating in face painting !

Alumni Sofia demonstrates how to play the recorder.

Davis, who will be attending the program this year, hands out seat cushions so everyone can get a good view of the stage and not miss any of the Peter Pan magic going on during the concert.

Former arts-X-press counselor, and crew memeber for the Musical Carnival, Jack poses with Rachel.

Other arts-X-press alumni in attendance were Sinday, Delara, and Betty.

Mollie & Rachel send a big thanks to everyone who helped at last weekend's concerts!
