Arts-X-press is a summer arts immersion program for 7th and 8th grade students created by the Pacific Symphony in celebration of Cole Carsan St.Clair. 150 students are nominated by teachers throughout Orange County to come together for 5 days of creative exploration each summer. The program has two goals: 1) To expose students to all 5 performing and visual arts; and 2) To foster respect for and interest in each student’s individuality, talents, interests, and background.

Welcome Concert Hilights

Hello!
Thanks to everyone who turned out for our Welcome Concerts last Friday and Saturday. It was great to see so many students and their families.

At the pre-concert reception, held at the Wyndham Hotel, we all had the opporutnity to mingle, have some fancy drinks, and even start making friends!

Michael Hall, the Associate Conductor for the Pacific Symphony, spoke to us all about the concert we were going to see that night and what an exciting summer we have planned at arts-X-press! Then Nathan, one of the Arts Faculty for this summer, gave us a talk on concert ettiquette.

Before the concert we attended the concert preview where host Alan Chapman, from KUSC, spoke about the different pieces we'd be hearing that evening. One of the composers came out to speak during the preview as well. And then it was time for the concert featuring Hillary Hahn. What a great evening!

We were so excited to see all of you. Thank you for making our Welcome Concerts a success!

Don't forget the deadline for registration paperwork is April 25th - this Friday!
