Arts-X-press is a summer arts immersion program for 7th and 8th grade students created by the Pacific Symphony in celebration of Cole Carsan St.Clair. 150 students are nominated by teachers throughout Orange County to come together for 5 days of creative exploration each summer. The program has two goals: 1) To expose students to all 5 performing and visual arts; and 2) To foster respect for and interest in each student’s individuality, talents, interests, and background.

Today was yet another exciting day at AXP! We started the day by getting our creative juices flowing and then went on a riveting adventure to the Plumber Auditorium to see..."Shrek!" The kids got to let their "Freak Flags Fly" during this upbeat musical, and then even got to ask the cast questions after the show. After returning to Vanguard and re-energizing with our first meal in the Caf, students were immersed in dance, vocal, and theater exploratory classes. It's been amazing seeing all the risks each student has been taking! We finished off the day by appreciating each other and reflecting on the magic that has already happened here at Arts-x-Press. Now off to bed so we can get ready for our busy day tomorrow!
