Arts-X-press is a summer arts immersion program for 7th and 8th grade students created by the Pacific Symphony in celebration of Cole Carsan St.Clair. 150 students are nominated by teachers throughout Orange County to come together for 5 days of creative exploration each summer. The program has two goals: 1) To expose students to all 5 performing and visual arts; and 2) To foster respect for and interest in each student’s individuality, talents, interests, and background.

Kjersti's Creative Expression - Session 2

On day 1, we explored our session's theme...OPTIMISM....by creating a group acrostic poem:

We continued expressing ourselves through various poetry forms and free writes, along with a song riddle titled "Rain, Rain".  Students figured out the answer to the riddle on day 3!!!

Yesterday we explored 4 pieces of artwork that we then saw presented during the Pageant of the Masters last night.

This morning, we began our class session with our "Candlelight Reflection"..... expressing what arts-X-press has meant to us so far.

We can't wait to share a piece of our written expression for our family and friends tonight at the parent presentation!!!
